Removable Silencers

Im about to install a muffler right now, but I dunno what to do with the silencer. Can I take it off/on after its installed? Or once installed, is it permanent?

Im looking @ my muffler right now, and it looks darn near impossible to take off once installed.

Thanks.

you can take it off when it's hot b/c the metal expanded a little... but it will be tough to put back on once it's cold....

you can remove it, its not that hard. i use the tent stakes (the long metal ones that i got from walmart) to pull out the silencer

yea you can take it off. but i would keep it off cuz IMO, silencers make the exhaust look weird. with that little circle inside a big circle. haha

I had the same problem with my exhaust. I have a Tenabe Super Medalion. Run the car for a while with the silencer in there. Make sure you remove the bolt. Let the muffler get nice and hot then turn off the car. Immediately spray cold water on the silencer, not the muffler them stick a clothes hanger or the camping rod as mentioned above into the silencer so it can get hooked then stark yanking. You should have no problem after doing that. Good luck.

silencers are useless. first off the diameter of which the carbon monoxide in greatly shortened by puttin one on and sits in there while it waits to come out. you will get a lot of carbon residue in the exhaust because of it. its also a waste for the pure fact you bought an aftermarket exhaust to gain somethin. it just defeats the purpose and is a waste of money
