Rep Power: 0 Crower Rods, Yes or No?
Crower makes a connecting rod for our motor d17a(2) , My real question though, If I am running naturally aspirated, will these make a difference or end up hurting me in the long run? My current performance setup consist of
VAFC II(tuned on dyno)
AEM Underdrive pulley kit(My aswell not be on there)
ACT street light Clutch/flywheel(best mod)
FIPK II Intake(carbon fiber filter head(cool))
SKUNK2 cat back(yay)
solo short shift adapter
Here is the link to the crower connecting rods

Rep Power: 400 On a stockish engine, its not going to make a difference. You shouldn't need stronger rods unless you're either boosting or have somehow found a way to build an all motor monster that revs like a bike.

As far as performance wise the maxi lite rods are lighter than stock (better for high reving all motor) which would reduce the amount of force to turn the crankshaft but I'm not so sure you would notice that much difference...

Rep Power: 0 If you're gonna go N/A, and you're gonna get some rods, I'd at LEAST get higher comp pistons and new valves/springs. Then you'd be able to do some higher revving and get some nice power. It won't be too much though if you're goin N/A. I can't remember exactly how much more power you get per raised compression point, but I think it's somewhere around 8% or so usually? Correct me if I'm wrong. I mean, regularly, rods don't need to be done unless you're revving high, because the stress on rods grows exponentially as you rev higher, and they want to stretch, and the rod bolts want to break or the rod could snap or something like that. Realistically, a 350hp turbo'd engine revving to 5k wouldn't need the rods that you'd need for a 200hp motor that revs to 9k.. If you need more specific stuff, since I'm being broad, you could ask and I'll actually look through my books to get real numbers.

Rep Power: 0 Get rods and pistons, and get some like 11:1 compression, then ull get a difference. but rods themselves are pointless, unless ur boosted or ur gunna run higher compression/higher with higher RPM's.
