newb exhaust question

ok i got 2 questions... what are the pros/cons of getting an exhaust thing like this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636 whats the difference between that and one of the expensive things?

also, if i were to buy that kind of thing off ebay, could i just take it to a muffler shop like mineke or watever and have them instal it? how much would that cost? how should i get it installed? thanks! im sorry these are such newb questions, but hey, im a newb, thanks!!!

Generics are designed to make noise and tuned for nothing. A full catback is tuned for the car's harmonics and makes the car sound good. Spend the money, buy a full catback.

Civic_RedLine will become famous soon enough
You get no gain off that. You need the change the cat on back in order to feel a gain. Those are also non emissions unlike greddy or other good brands that are smog legal. Those will get y ou a ticket if you are ever unlikely to get caught with them because they wont give you a sticker like other brands. Buy at least cheap full catback if your gonna go cheap on your exhaust.

stay with the stock exhaust.. unless your doing major performance upgrades you'll just tired of the noise sooner or later. Spend the money on something useful

If your on a budget, and want exhaust, have a good muffler shop build a system. I had a local shop that we do business with do mine, from the cat back with a Magnaflow muffler and nice tip. Way cheaper then buying a pre-fab cat back system IMO.

if you want something fun to drive then lower your car or get better tires.. ect. intake/exhaust won't really make it more f un to drive.. I know intake/exhaust will make your car sound cool .. but with my experience and many others on the board.. at first itll be GREAT, then after a while you'll just ask yourself why you wasted so much money on pointless stuff!

dude if you want to save money then buy a good universal muffler, like my tanabe lol, and get custom piping done. cheaper, sounds just as good, more respect from other tuners, and if it doesn't do much to start with (HP gains) they why spend all that extra molla$$.

Hrmm.. out here is California you can basically do anything you to your exhaust as long as its after the cat converter and its below the 95db noise level. So you dont need any type of ARB sticker.

I paid roughly $400CDN for the whole thing. Only cons is it's not stainless steel and crush bent piping. The muffler was the most exspensive.
