Intake Battle Royale(or not)
Re: Intake Battle Royale(or not)
i have the Injen CAI/SRI. its a 2 piece and when it looks crappy out, it takes 5 minutes to change it out...and contrary to the directions, you do not have to remove the battery to put the CAI pipe on/off. you could have checked out procivic.com or autoanything.com for parts. autoanything has some performance parts on there, but mostly replacement. I got my intake and a throttle body spacer from them. procivic is well, all civic parts. you can search by engine and chassis code...kinda nice.
Re: Intake Battle Royale(or not)
I've had an aem cold air and a v2. I prefer the V2, but then again my friend is an AEM dealer and i got them for $150 each brand new. I think the V2 runs for like 2 something on ebay. The cold air was too noisy at idle i hate being that guy at the light with the "riced" out car. Also i live in Seattle and puddles are an issue even with the bypass valve. The V2 sounds like stock most of the time. until you open it up. I noticed greater top end in the V2. The V2 opened up is the best sounding intake for the d17 PERIOD. It doesn't sound ricey at all when opened up, actually it's down right nasty. But if cost is an issue, iono. Personally i'd dish out the extra cash to avoid that noisy idle.

go AEM V2. it's quiet when you want it to be and wakes up when you want to have some fun! i've got it on my daily driver. you also don't have to worry about sucking up any water.
