Rate Your Exhaust
Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Apexi WS2 cat-back
Fit: 1 then 4.5 initially it was a nightmare; the EX didn't fit on my VP. i had to buy a Tanabe adapter; mechanic was a truck; welded 2-3 times. but finally took it to someone else and it fits very good. rattles a bit on hard left turns.
Power: 3 midrange improved.
Loudness: 2-3
Tip/Piping/Material: 100/60 mm; SS

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Magnaflow Cat-back
Fit: 3.5/5 I bought it used it came off a dx/lx, i have a si(ex) so i had shop cut it and do a custom fit. Looks pretty good
Power: 3 nothing great, feels a little more rev happy
Loudness: 3 Nice start up, great idle, decent city driving, on the highway 100km/h fine, 120km/h LOUD
Material: All stainless steel with 2.25in piping
It looks good on the car with a real deep tone, not raspy at all. Just louder on the highway than i thought.

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
I find the the Apex WS2 and the magnaflow have a similar sound, both very deep. The Apex has a more sleek and better looking tip, the magnaflow has a big 4 inch tip without the same finish the WS2 has. Not sure about the megan. Really you cant go wrong with eaither the magnaflow or the WS2.
Re: Rate Your Exhaust

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
great new,
"he twin canister system is like a unique silencer. As it brings the tone nowhere above 95 decibles, it greatly deepins the tone completley avoiding that high pitched, tin-can rice."

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Ebay N1 style:
Sounds real deep and smooth, and gives a nice sublte back fire/growl when you let off at high rpm
2"pipe 4.5" tip
POwer... idk
Loudness 2-3 not bad when your just cruzin
* when there is high humidity or if it had raind awhile it gets real quiet untill you can evaporate off the water.
Fitment: Alright for a 6thgen lx a little modification is needed

Megan Racing M-Spec II Muffler (Carbon Fiber)
I didn't feel like getting a cat-back, but this muffler is perfect.
Fit = 4 (Cut off the old muffler, welded on the new one)
Power = 2 (My car is automatic, I can't really feel any power difference)
Loudness = 4 (Not ricey at all, extremely deep sound, no farting. Very deep at around 1500rpm, quietens down in the 2000-2500rpm range, then gets loud again past 2500. Sounds very sexy)
All in all, I'm happy with it. Plus with my K&N intake, my car sounds badass.

Greddy 4-2-1 Header 5" tip
FIT: 5/5
POWER: NA
LOUDNESS: 5/5
Aluminized Steel
Has held up good on salted NJ roads. Is extremely loud. Has very agreeable tone. No rattle or angry bees noise. Highly recommend if you want an obnoxiously loud muffler.

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Pace setter is cheaper and you kinda get what you pay for. They have mediocre fit. But need no modifying. Decent brand overall. I had there header on my 97 DX, never had any problems.
Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Modded my 6th gen hatchie to header +cat +catback when the stock manifold cracked. DC Sports 4-1 header for ex/si
Magnaflow cat for ex/si
Apexi WS2 catbacK for hatchback
Fit: 4 Replaced attatch bracket for mani to engine with stock ex bracket & mani bolted up perfectly. Incuded O2 sensor wire extension was long enough to hit aft sensor. Had to extend front wires myself.
Cat bolted to that perfectly.
To fit the catback had to get a muffler shop to cut the front pipe to fit & weld a mating flange on that bolted up perfectly to the cat. All the hangers were in the right place except the 2 on the catback muffler that were too close together & took a little "convincing" to fit with perfect bumper clearance.
Loudness: 2 Purrrrrrrfect low growl
Power: Definitely some more horsie = too much fun. Doesn't seem to have lost any anywhere and seems stronger bottom thru top.
One minus is a vibe around 1500-1600rpm, kinda annoying during warmup but not in that range enough for it to **** me off.
Been running this setup for a year & lovin it.
Passed smog in Reno, Nevada with no prob.

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
tenrai (ebay exhasut)
megan 4-1 headers
magnaflow hi-flow universal cat 2" in/out
fit- 5
fit really well no rattles or weird noises. took about 1-2 hours to remove the oem and install. had to have the shop weld the cat in but thats cuz i have a vp and the cat was in the header
power- 4
deffinetly noticeable with the headers. seems like it doesnt take as long for the rpms to rise. but doesnt make it fast and furious fast lol
loudness- 3 to 4
definetly loud but a nice low growl that is loud when layin on the throttle. no high pitched rice sound at all
all stainless 2" i.d. piping / 4" tip

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Posting a diff exhaust on a diff sled.
Magnaflow 2 1/2 c/c with a resonated 3" tip
DCRH
OEM mid pipe
This is on a 96 civic CX and it has no cat
fit- 5
the tip tucks perfectly under the eBay CTR lip I have, clears the rear sway bar and enough of the Magnaflow hangs low to add a bit of flair to the rar.
power- 4
definately helps driving under 4k rpm feels like it could breathe a bit easier if it was 60mm all the way through
loudness- 6
it adds a sporty sound with the very very very slightest **** hair hint of rasp only at 3500 rpm. It loud enough that you can tell it has an exhaust but doesn't drone you to death on the highway

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
Im thinking about welding an exhaust straight to the header and calling it good. No cat, no pipes, just loud *** ****.

Loudness 5-5, my brother heard me from 4 miles away in the middle of the night..

Re: Rate Your Exhaust
yo kugar...how'd you set up your catbacK? i just bought mine off ebay too.. 2.5", only my cat is welded, etc etc....should i buy a downpipe with the cat welded on? i'm in texas..and yeap...we need emissions test. i prefer everything to be bolt on so if i get tired of the rice sound i can just switch it up
