RS*R Ex mag exhaust w/ Random Tech Cat

a lot of people are saying their exhausts arent "raspy, etc" but a lot of the time from inside the car you don't hear that. you have to let someone else drive your car and get on it to know what it really sounds like from the outside.
and come on lets be honest here, "sounds like a g35 exhaust" is a little ridiculous. a honda civic will never sound anything like a 350z/g35

RSR Exmag on 2k2 sedan auto, SS ceramic coated, about 2.25inch pipe, 4 inch tip diameter.
Fit 4: No rattle when sunny and dry, hanger needed slight bending due to exhaust touching rear lip (its now 1mm of clearance). But the tip doesn't get very hot.
Power 3: It didn't rob power, just accelerates faster when getting on the freeway.
Loudness 4: It is fairly loud below 4k rpms when accelerating and giving gas, but i also have intake, header, and port work.

get the rs*r but if you really want on of those, skunk2 is the loudest (and makes the most power), greddy sounds loud but not bad, apex n1 is kinda dumb looking and also loud.
DC TCS (twin canister system)
Fit: 5 - Looks very clean, unobtrusive, not ricey.
Power: 3.2 - Considering the gasses pass through two mufflers, it inhibits a free-air flow, however - in conjunction with the DC header, there is a fairly noticible boost.
Sound: 4.75 - The twin canister system is like a unique silencer. As it brings the tone nowhere above 95 decibles, it greatly deepins the tone completley avoiding that high pitched, tin-can rice.
all in all i love my exhaust, may not be the top choice for power, but for all other qualifications, it's perfect.

Apexi World Sport 2
WS2:
Fit: 5 - Everything should be this well made. Fit perfectly, no rattles yet.
Power: 3 - Seemed to bump up the top end a bit
Loudness: 2.5 - Just a bit of a growl to it. Not nearly as loud as my AEM SRI

Just got the Hks Hi-Power Rear Section
Fit: 5 - It fits perfectly with the factory bolts, also comes with to extra bolts to use.
Power: 3.5 - I feel a bit more power from mid to top end range.
Sound: 4 - It sounds real nice, low rumble, no droneing on highways and I drive about 50 miles a day on highways too.
Overall I think its a real nice exhaust, the quality of it is awesome! Looks awesome too with the angled look !

Custom is the way to go
Fit: 4 - rattles sometimes in the rain
Power: 5 Gave me the 2hp everyone else gets
Sound: 5 no louder than stock with silencer in it, Nice deep tone when i take it out
Overall - 60 for muffler 150 to run pipe... what else is there to say?
Gearbox is right about puting the stock system back on....When you open up the airflow...You loose low end power aka pull or Tq...some of you call is "back pressure"...Keep your stock for the most off the line power and just weld a nice looking tip.
I took the RSX type S tip and cut it off. Then cut off about 8 inches off the stock civic pipe coming off the end...and welded the acura tip to the end of mine....Looks like factory Acura RSX type S from the back...sorry no pics

nice. yea you have to balance it. i still have the stock header so it kinda makes up for it. when i dynoed with the rsr i didn't really lose any torque but gained more power above 5k rpms (not that it even matters).
That's what sucks about 4 bangers...You never know what's going to rob power and what's going to gain...unless you buy it and put it on to see the difference. V8's normally always get good gains from bolt-ons..ect
I'm back to stock now from all the waisted money. The car runs so much better and it will probably last longer too. Except the tranny that I'm having looked at tomorrow @ Honda

What does having a single canister mean?
I want a deep, agressive sound. I don't want a ricey sound, or a burp sound either. Would this be a good exhaust for me?

Single canister means there are no chambers inside like the flowmaster to give it that deep sound...Single canister is exactly how it sounds straight through flow with no chambers to break it up to mess with the sound. If you were to open up a flowmaster muffler you will see different "paths" inside routing the air through chambers. Canister doens't have that. Make sense? I like the sound you are going for too. As redneck as I'm not...I like the sound of the super 40 flowmaster..Sounds like a v6 on our cars
yeah, makes sense, thanks for the write up. I like the Flowmaster sound, but I don't think putting a Flowmaster on a civic is right
will that DC Sports exhaust still sound deep though?

Yeah...I agree with the whold FLowmaster thing...It's more of a domestic car thing...But there is a hillbilly at work who did it..SOunds good! I don't know about the DC..From other threads on here..not too many people like it.
DC TCS catback with DC headers
Fit: 3.8 - the pipe looks a tad akward
power: 1.75 - not a free-flowing exhaust
loudness: 2.5 - not a great scorer on loudness, but under 4,000 rpms it's a deep refined sound of sexiness, any higher and it starts to sound farty, so i'd give it a 4.1 for exhaust note.

Greddy EVO2
Fit: Perfect, looks amazing, all chrome..keep it clean
from side and back looks realll nice.Sits perfectly.
Power: Does rob low end but wit my other mods (i/h/e, pulleys, fidanza )flywheel, exedy clutch,etc..) it pulls hard. Very good for high rpm and high speeds. Its helped me get to 150.
Loudness: Quiet on idle, slight throddle and low throddle, basically only loud when you want it to be. Very nice DEEP muscle car sound. Even better when I get my Stage 2 Crower Cams. Cant wait!! Highly recommended Full Catback System!!!

Megan Racing Catback
fit- 5. no problems. perfect fit, don't rub anything at all. easy as pie.
power- 3. some gains, after 3500 you can really feel something. it breathes easier.
loudness- i wake up neighboors regularly- 5. even my dad comes down stairs at night when i come home after work.
at start up its DEEP and growls. when the motor is warm, you can hear its not a normal exhaust, but its a light idle noise.
