ya i heard about the kamakazie they also offer them for my s10 but they arent 50 state legal. i need it to be 50 state legal because it is my family car. i dont want to do anything to this car i cant pass smog with. i already have enough issues with my truck not passing i dont need my family car to be in the same boat.

50 state legal i forgot about that.. just get the header and get a hi flo cat or somethin. only reason ours isn't legal is cause it eliminates the cat that was in the exhaust manifold.

then your probably not going to be able to find a header.
wait, can you get an EX header and also get a full EX cat bak exhaust (combined) to fit on a LX?
because i know you can do a similar swap with the rsx base and type s.

i have a manifold leak and i dont know if it is the manifold itself or the gasket. if it is the manifold then i get a header if it is the gasket well obviously ill just replace that. i know gains wont be substancial(sp) but if the manifold is cracked it would be cheaper to get a header and i would get to enjoy the increase in power. i have to tear it apart to find out. ill keep you guys posted!!
thanks for the suggestions it is very appreciated!!!!

So check this out, here in Florida, we get rid of emissions testing to register vehicles each year.... but we pass a no smoking law. I'm so pissed I can't just sit and relax after my dinner and light up, so instead I wish to rip my CX Exhaust Manifold, have hot sex with the catalytic converter end, apologize to my wife, and throw a pipe in. Then I will drive in front of old people all day since they are most responsible for the no smoking law.

for LX to EX exhuast conversion.. you'll also need an EX OEM cat convertor/downpipe or the random technology high flow convertor..
depending on the year of your civic, you may have to swap the front sway bar too..
search for exhaust conversion.. you should be able to find plenty of post on it.

see that is what i was looking for. what problems i would face but all the idiots came out instead of finding someone helpful. i dont think with the 01 manual lx sedan you have to do the sway bar swap just on the coupe from what i read at least. now i need to find someone that makes a high flow cat pipe to finish it off. any suggestions??

oh well i ordered the random tech cat pipe to go with my shizz. damn over all just for the dc header the greddy evo2 and the random tech cat pipe i dropped $1125. then another $460 for the clutch and flywheel after tax and another $200 is coming for install on the clutch. $1800 total and i still need springs and shocks and a larger dia brake kit for the front. this is a lot of money i hope its worth it.

well i got it all finished up. over all it was a pretty easy swap if you have everything needed to do the job. i stripped the nut on the far right driver side manifold stud so i ahd to pull the power steering pump off to air hammer it off. but that was easy. then i didnt have the ex spring bolts so in order for them to work i had to auger the holes on the random tech cat pipe so the stop on the bolt went through the random tech flange then i had to trim the springs a bit to make the length work. youll also need a 3 bolt flange gasket and 3 12mm 1.5" bolts and nuts with the washers for the cat pipe to the evo 2 exhaust. this set up sounds great. although i havent had a chance to drive the car because my ball joint popped out of the spindle on the way home from getting the clutch installed. so i am on my way no to go pick it up and ill post what she feels like when i get back to work

damn she feels tons better. with the exedy organic clutch and act streetlite flywheel dc header random tech cat pipe and greddy evo2 its like a night and day difference she pulls all the way through the rpm band now and much smoother. and to confirm the myth about changing sway bars when doing this swap, yes you do . i ahd to ditch the sway bar for the time being and i am purchasing a ex sway bar. over all it was a good purchase. it sounds deep and quiet. i am very happy. now i just need to get the kyb adj. shocks and struts along with the eibach prokit springs installed with the aem big rotor kit. i have this stuff sitting in my garage waiting to go on. so hopefully it will happen soon.
