New intake for us?

Okay, now this is just a little eBay generic intake system, but I noticed the heatshield in there. Looks pretty neat, although I cant quite figure out how it goes onto the intake system. But it looks like it would be effective. Any thoughts?

uh, what? keeps radiator out of filter?

well, logically speaking, the metal heatshield would heat up pretty hot under the engine bay ... thus, negating its effects as a heatshield

It woud heat up, but it will protect from radiator fan air flowing into your air filter.

That intake's for a K series motor. It's for the Si hatch and not our cars.

Try it. Ride with your car, when it's hot put your hand next to your air filter.
When your radiator fan starts to work you will see how much hot air comes to your air filter. With aluminium cover you wont fill it any more. CAI on our civic sucks because your piping is next to radiator.
I have AEM V2 intake and problem is hot air. Now I'm making cold air box from fiber glass, just to keep it from hot air.

This pic is from friends 99 civic hatch.

And you fill diferent car

our radiators are not quite as close to the filter as that one

plus, hot air coming towards the filter just means the uncoated metal heatshield would get heated up more

the idea is there, but quality could seriously be increased...and i wouldn't buy that filter, what's that extra hole in the filter for? one is for the breather tube....the smaller one is for??
