Help! HKS Downpipe Info
I just bought the dc 4-1 header and I know most on the site don't say much for it, but I was wondering if adding the HKS downpipe helps out at all? w/sound? w/tq? w/hp?

if its the downpipe I used to have its HKS-A not HKS which is misleading, anyways I used to have the pipe, it was OK, it threw a CEL and needed a o2 sim to work, just get the random technology cat so you can keep both o2 bungs... later

where did u bought that downpipe?
the HKS-A crap is just a whatever name the ebay seller put on the downpipe.. there's a generic test pipe downpipe/"highflow cat" and the random technology real highflow cat/downpipe.
the real HKS does not make a downpipe for our car.
so u either bought one that wont fit.. or you bought one thats generic, and the person/retailer just named it whatever selling it to you..

I used to have the hks-a test pipe and it was crap, just get the random tech cat, thats what I have now its great. No CEL and it uses the stock o2 sensor locations. I definitly notcied a big difference after installing it, I got back a lot of low end torque and it really rips through the RPM's.... I can chirp 3rd if I really goose it... THe only thing is it makes it louder and it really roars once the RPM's get up there, almost deafening... and it kinda rattles at idle sometimes, but other than that the Random tech cat is a direct fit bolt on and I would recommond it to anyone who has already done header and catback and intake, so that would complement the setup very well. And it is a legal cat so you should still pass emissions if you have to get inspected where you live.

this is a stupid question, im just not exactly sure what catback means..
I have flowmaster exhaust, dc headers, and AEM v2 intake - if i put in either the HKS-A or the random tech downpipe..do you think my car will be REALLY loud? cops are dicks around here and I already have 4 points on record. not only that, i don't wanna get pulled over for being too loud and then get caught smokin the reefer inside
, thats always my fear when making my car more eye catching...

look, cat back means from the cat back, it could be any exhaust, with muffler without muffler with resonator without resonator it doesnt matter, it doesn't have to be straight pipes, its just a term meaning the exhaust system from the catalytic converter to the very back of the car, thats all it means, and axle back is just the rear section without midpipe, an example would be the HKS rear section....
