I had an AEM short ram and it was horrible. I say stay away from that brand, although some people like the V2 on an lx/dx. For the ex, I say the best intake is K&N dyno proven at 5whp unless the other guy comes through with the ingen dyno.

He sent it to me. It's not 17whp, but still the numbers are good. Look at the torque gains! And this is on an lx auto with injen CAI. Looks like it increased midrange power alot.

no im barely getting my headers in this thursday....and i dont have exhaust yet either...I have my stock muffler...and its putting a good amount of back preasure...i didnt even have my NGK iridiums in at the time...and the dyno sheet does have the serial number of the injen intake for my car...you can look it up...the RD 1565...
the only thing I can think of is...did you buy the car used? maybe some stuff is done you don't know about....or 2 you have a gifted car lol because think about it a 5 sp EX with 12 more HP stock hardly puts that much whp.....your getting that without the intake and your an LX 12 horses less plus your auto so you lose more hp from your crank to the wheels....just doesn't make sense to me something is wrong
some cars just happen to have a perfectly balanced motor and very tight tolerances. I remember some stock camaros used to run some sick times in the 1/4 mi. You coulda just gotten lucky and everything happened to be "right on" for your car

Gearbox, I love Michelle Branch every bit as much as you do, but that new pic you have pales in comparison to the last ones. She kind of looks like Micheal Jackson in some strange way.
PS: I have been very pleased with my FIPK, and it feels like it has a lot more pull than em2s I have been in with AEM CAI's

One thing I dont get. How could it be automatic starting at 2500 rpms without downshifting to another gear. You cant hold it in 3rd gear it will downshift at those RPMS.

To answer the other question, put the shifter in D3 and it won't go above 3rd gear. You can rev and hold 3rd gear all the way to redline.
Why are you guys so quick to say it's fake? That seems like a reasonable gain. Even then, I want a short ram so water doesn't get in the engine.

As far as performance is concerned, would the AEM V2 be just as good as the stadard AEM CAI? I decided to go with AEM b/c i heard Injen is a bitch to install and im skeptical about the K&N typhoon bc i heard its basically silent unless your cruising along at 85, and thats no fun. Also how does the AEM V2 and CAI sound, bc i heard they sound a little ricy.

You should get K&N fipk, not typhoon. It's very loud for me even when accelerating up to 3k rpms. The aem cai and v2 will give similar gains. I think AEM gives the least hp. Noise is ricy sounding imo.
all intakes are about the same. no one intake is better than the other. i prefer my stock intake though. if you're interested in purchasing an AEM CAI for an EX i have one that i bought a few months ago for my car, but never really used it. its basically brand new, polished, and only used for a few hours. if you're interested pm me.
