someone said (maybe not on this website) that the rsr was made for a 4 dr because it's made in japan and they don't have 2 door civics there. however, i got one and had to cut a large hole in my bumper to accomodate it. it sticks out but still looks sweet and sounds deep and subtle. i had headers put in at the same time and the combo has a noticeable power difference. only other mod is a kn air filter.
ok i have to clear this up... The RS-R Ex Mag Exhaust was not made for the 4 door american Civic. It was made specifically for the 2-door American civic. The closest cars Japan has to our 4-door civic, are the Civic Hybrid, Civic Ferio, and Civic GX. Of those the only one that would have any performance potential would be the Ferio. Either way, they sell less then their standard Civic. The standard Civic over there looks similar to our Si.

4-Door Civic In Japan
If it was designed for our 4-door's then u would see somewhere on the box "Civic Ferio".
I truly wish it wast so, because i want the RS-R myself. The fact is though the sedan's rear bumper cannot accommodate it without modification.

If I'm not mistaken Boilermaker said the box had "ES" on it, which means it was meant for the sedan... if it was for the four door hatch it would've had "EU"

On my 2004 the "cutout" pattern is on the backside of the bumper, you can feel the scoring where it needs to be cut it's just not cut.
I believe Tanabe's Super Hyper Medallion has the same issue, everyone says it's for the coupe but it has the "ES" for the chassis it fits...

It says on RSRs site that it fits 01+ 2dr Ex. Why just an EX? Will it not fit an LX? Thought they were the same exact car except for very minor things that would have nothing to do with exhaust.
yea i talked to boilermaker... i could do a Lx/Ex header/cat conversion but i'm thinking about just getting a custom exhaust built by a bad A welder I know..if he can make something nice looking and deep and quiet then I'll be happy...would it be best to match the exhaust piping with the header piping diameters?

I would feel bad spending all that money and getting something that looks like stock with a little tip on the end. I guess if it does its job...
Sorry to bring back an old thread, I decided to post here so all the other people that posted here would be notified of my achievement.
The RSR does fit the sedan with no bumper modifications!
