Honda RS-R Ex Mag Exhaust

Hey I'm looking for a quiet exhaust and I've been looking at the RS-R Ex Mag. Does anyone have that on their EM2? I have an 04' Coupe, but I also heard that they only make the Ex Mag for a 4dr? Is that true? Thanks for the help!

Doesn't Boilermaker have it too? He had some video and sound clips of it as well.

Anyone know if the tip is removable, or is it welded on?

The tip is welded on, it fits the coupe, but to my eye, it looks a hair too long. it doesn't stick out, but compared to the other RSRs I've seen in person it should be about 1" shorter behind the muffler. I'm assuming its the difference between the 2dr/4dr overhang.

that would be my first choice.

Yoda wise one that you are,

It's not blowing $; it's an investment in a work of art. When you take it out of the package you can tell that someone spent some time putting it together and some brain cells engineering it.

Sort of like the light sabre you gave to your pupil Luke...

lol sorry but although its a really nice exhaust system... $500 is just a wee bit too much.

i saw it once for $450 free shipping though..

the gay part is, CA is subjected to tax.. argh.

but it'll still be under 500.. wonder where's the cheapest price now.

Hey, for those of you with the EX Mag... I know not to expect much, if any, in terms of power gains... but, did any of you notice any loss in low end torque (etc...)? Just curious since it seems most mods tend to slow this freakin' car down. LOL

I thought the Ex-Mag was supposed to give you decent power gains with minimal noise from the muffler?

Yeah I know that... LOL It's just that this is the exhaust I want to go with and don't want any hidden surprises. I don't want to lose what little power I have already. I'd be happy even if the car ran like stock with the exhaust (+ the sound and looks of course...).

ah the RS-R is sooooo sexy, although it doesnt look as good as on other applications, but still..anywho a friend of mine passed by a 7thgen with 1 on, he said that its quiet until higher rpms and thats where it screams...the sound varies based on driving ability..(over revving, shifting low rpms/higher rpms, ete)
(he was on the road, i guess messing with him)

Its designed to increase midrange response. Don't look for huge numbers, but jumping on it between 2500 and 5000 is definately better.

I don't thing scream is the right word. Best analogy I can put to it is the sound you get from a 350Z, but with 4 cylinders, it sounds a little more rakish.

Its a 4 banger. Smooth is not a word that should ever be associated with it. The only thing worse than 4, is 5.
Want smooth, get more cylinders.

I have heard the RS-R and the Apexi World Sport 2 in person on our cars...I have to say that the WS has the best sound out of the 2 hands down...The RS-R is a nice sounding exhaust, but it tends to get too raspy in the higher rpm range...The WS just sounds deep and smooth all the way through....They are both excellent exhaust, but my choice would be the WS for the sound and price difference. (World Sport 2 $400-$450)
