i have one.....dont have sounds clips but will share my opinion.

It's the quietest one i ever heard but that's with a resonator....without a resonator and on cold start it sounds ricey at first but once it warms up it growls.

check out magnaflows website for sound clips. They don't have any of our car but you can get the right idea.

Contrary to what Mr. Modify or most MagnaFlow owners have said, I find my MagnaFlow too loud for my taste. I dont know for sure if this is fair to compare:

I had a 3rd gen GS-R with header, intake, and GReddy SP. My MagnaFlow is way louder.

I had a WRX with catless U/P, catless D/P, high-flow mid-pipe, and ProDrive axle-back. My MagnaFlow is way too louder.

My friend's 02 Impreza 2.5RS (non-turbo version) with Borla header, GReddy EVO, CAI, and mine is still louder.

My Civic has a header and a RandomTech Cat...this is really loud. At least it isnt loud as fart can loud. It is loud with growling loud sound.

See, MagnaFlow is really really quite in Neutral gear. I wish it was as quite as my previous cars when in motion.

MagnaFlow is quite on 3K rpm and below or in neutral gear. I've previously stated on another thread that the droning sound is annoying on long trips. Had it installed 6 days ago, drove 385 miles each way and it was really annoying. This is also the reason why I wanted to trade it with another exhaust. But reading all the comments about MagnaFlow being the most quite exhaust, I dont know what to do. But then again, I dont really make long trips often.

I can only record an MPEG4 and cant record it until wednesday.

I find that reason or any reason for that matter, unacceptable. Compared to my previous cars with the same mods or more, my civic is louder. I hope I didnt sound like Im exaggerating my observation.

I wish it would only make noise when accelerating or shifting. I want it to be quite, or I was expecting it to be quite on 5th gear.

Maybe you got a lemon or something cause mine is not loud at all. Mine fits like crap and hangs way too low but I like the sound. But i am sure I will like the new HKS better.

yeah maybe he should put the resonator back on or not chagne to a high flow cat. That will make everything 10 times louder.

Actually, I still have the resonator plus the RandomTech. If I were to take the RandomTech cat in lieu of the straight pipe that is supplied with magnaflow, it would be louder.

make usre its installed right!!!
How is it going to be installed wrong when there is no exhaust leak?

Maybe you got a lemon or something
A lemon? A lemon because its loud? Im just going to my head.

Yes. Dont forget that you are on a Civic forum where loud is proud

yeah i heard some of the magnaflows and they sounded nice. although never actually heard it at higher rpm's. If you want to save some cash i'd suggest getting their universal muffler and get custom piping. should fit much better and also if you want get a bullet resonator replacing your stock resonator.

Sure you can get a lemon muffler. Maybe your glass packing was not all there in the muffler or silencer? Anything is possible.

And it will sound like a fart-can but mine doesnt.

I just listened to RSX sound clip in MagnaFlow, the sound is just like that...loud.

Maybe our definition of 'loud' is totally different. My definition of loud is being louder than my previous cars with the same mod or more.

I'm going to quit whining now and just live with the loudness of this exhaust.

Know whats louder? No exhaust lol I did that for a week. HP headers sound sick uncapped. Not police, neighbor, environment, or ear friendly. But VERY FUN.

I accidentally did that. The C-Clamp from MagnaFlow came off just as they about to drive my car to the ramp to weld the connections...very loud indeed.

See, antok86 heard the RSX clip and he said it's not loud. For may taste, it is loud.

I agree with mr. mod, when its cold it sounds a little ricey, but when it warms up it sounds alot better, even with a resonator.

I'm going to be taking off the resonator soon, its too quiet.

Yes, I am selling my Magnaflow cat back and getting rid of it. I ordered a HKS axel back and it will be here in a couple weeks. I am going to throw on my stock b-pipe (pipe from the catalytic converter to the axel) and then add the HKS axel back.

Here is a link to the RSX .
The sound shouldn't be that different.

Yeah and they use u bolt clamps which I don't like or get and the u-bolts have to be put on sideways or else you will REALLY be scraping. To me they should just use a nice fitting bolt together system.

As far as the RSX sound clip...It sounds louder than my system. If I can remmeber I will get a sound clip up tonight.
