Magnaflow Sounds?

antok, if you are going to install a header with it or in the future, it will be loud.
Correct me if Im wrong. But reading the profiles of the members who replied to this thread indicates that they only have an exhaust installed. I have a 4-1 header and this could be the big factor that contributes to the loudness of my magnaflow.
I read another disclaimer from MagnaFlow site that the dB could be higher when installed with other aftermarket system.

In my opinion. the Thermal is more silent than the Magnaflow. Cost, is a different issue.
You can send me the clip, and I'll host and post it up..

Ok, I am going to attempt to make another video/audio clip tonight for the Magnaflow. I think last time the exhaust flow was bouncing off my garage door and blowing threw the microphone. I will set it at anew angle tonight.
I have installed my Magnaflow muffler with custom made 2.25" pipe, took out resonator, and it sounds great. It doesn't hang any low because I installed oval shape 5"x8" and it looks great. It will growl a little when accelerating really hard, but when driving not racing you will enjoy the sound. It's real real deep, a little bassy and not too loud. I will post some audio or video clips so you can hear it as soon as I put some batteries to my cam.

I tried again last night and ome to the conclusion my camera is not made for audio cause it came out crappy again. Sorry about that. My parts guy said my HKS should be in today or tomorrow so if that is the case I will have the HKS on very soon and will let you know how I like it compaired to Magnaflow.

Alright...this is the best I could come up with. It's a magnaflow cat-back exhaust w/ resonator on my '02 civic lx. The only other engine mod I have is the k&n kipk II. I can't say everyone's will sound 100% like this clip because of differences in application and microphone distortion but here yah go.
btw, 2.25" piping.

But you will notice on idle, its really really quite. But who here spends too much time on idle?
Imagine at 75mph 3K rpm on the freeway and listening to the droning sound...pretty annoying indeed. This is what I dont get with our Civic. From the outside, you can barely hear our stereo when its turned up. Then from the inside, you can hear all the noises. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I don't have any droning sound when holding a constant speed on the freeway. After a while, you don't even notice it anymore. That's just my opinion. I think it's one of the quieter exhausts you'll find.
It really isn't that loud. I also boosted the volume on the clip about 10 db.

Ok, I got my HKS on last night and I can honestly say it is really quiet. I thought my Magnaflow was quiet but after hearing the HKS the Magnaflow was not all that quiet. LOL
I realy like the HKS a lot and I am happy, so far, that I went with it. I am sure in a few weeks it will get a tad louder but we shall see. It has a nice rumble to is and I like the way it exits the rear. Now that I am back to the stock B-pipe and just an axel back HKS I noticed more low end pick up it seems.
