dude, our cars turbo can lay down some good power, and if you think about it, 200whp, with a turbo setup and some minor internals is damn nice for a civic, our cars are light as hell, and with that kind of power, even tho its not so much, our cars move quick. Dude, my friend has a 2000 civic EX, d16 block, 1.6 liters, and he runs a 50 shot of nitrous right? He made low 15's at the 1/4 mile. Remind you he didn't tune it or nothing, all he has is a shitty exhuast, and a nitrous setup, and he keeps up with a fwd second gen eclipse with a first gen talon motor in it. Turbo mind you! Plus that guy (also friend) has boost controller, SAFC (car is tuned) and my friends civic keeps up, he even ran a better time on one lap.
I guess all i'm trying to say is, even tho we don't put down serious horsepower like say...an Evo or STI, our cars can go fast with just some moderate power, ya know?
Isn't there a guy on the forums here with a boosted d17 with the SF kit on it, that runs like 13's 1/4 mile? I think there is, and that car as far as I know isn't all crazy tuned and built up N stuff. I think he only puts down around 200whp too. So don't think that you can't make some good power with these engines.
Of course money can be tight, but if you got around $4,500 you could grab urself a turbo, install it, tune it, and be boosting by the time you can say Iwannabefast, ya know? (course im just sayn this based on what the WhipFactory does 4 civics)
::sigh:: ok...im done ranting now...
