Fastest N/A D17 15sec?
well first of all.. my question is if you do have a fast n/a d17 block what is ur time.... second of all i have been trying to find parts to make my car a fast n/a but it looks like it keeps pointing to turbo... are u spraying to get a fast time or no... also what parts did u swap and change out and where did u get each part cause all the sites i have been to only have the basic parts such as i/h/e, brakes, and stuff... i got a local shop that will bore my throttle body for $100 but thats about it.. if i still had my 98 civic this wouldnt be a problem.. but since i decided to get a newer car i gotta do with what i got...a little help please
Three things you can do
1. Build your motor's top end and run a high as **** compression
I believe safely you can run 11.5:1 compression pistons on pump gas
2. http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/tech/0203ht_nx/ or just spray
3. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST

Well you could build your engine, however it would probably be more cost effective to do a swap or turbo. It is not saying that building a d17 can't be done, it is just that it rarely is considering you pay so much for so little. The investment does not pay off as much as swaps and fi do. Who wants to build an engine for 6 grand that only puts down 180 at the wheels. That is horrible. Sell your car and get something used that is faster for that price. If you are a civic fan, swap a motor running higher compression and bigger displacement.

well.. heres my goal.. if i go FI.. then i need low compression.. i have a dx with an ex vtec head.. i have been told the dx has a lower compression than the ex so which is good when i do FI... now i want to build the engine as much as possible doing anything internal such as cams and gears and such and build the hp as high then just bolt on my turbo when i get it... i got some shops out here that are willing to sponsor me some funds if i go d17 n/a and pull it off with some results.. when thats done i got another shop that will sponsor the turbo for me to build a strong d17 turbo motor

Navyedoc Has a 13.8 second 1/4 mile timeslip under his belt here in tampa with his all-motor d17.... but trust me... he has invested soooo much in custom work it's not even funny... he will prob have the fastest NA d17 for a very very long time... and he's selling his car for 15K now here in tampa with like 40K miles on it....

i know its not worth it.. but when u got people giving u money or paying partial for the part or better yet imma get a free turbo after the n/a is done which saves me 2-3 grand.. so how is that not worth it if it not out of pocket so for me to do it then why not.. and could people stop lecturing about swaps and buying another car... that not what im asking.. i already had a 98si with a b16 in it full turbo.. now here i am with a newer car cause my friends that owns shops said that nobody in my area has a built 7th gen so there helpping me to become the first.. is that so hard to understand

increasing compression could be done by:
thinner head gasket
aftermarket valves (oversize?)
high compression pistons
there may be more ways, but I am not certain ...

the best way would be hi compression pistons.

bisi is just one very exeptional example. the guys an engineer with access to laboratories. Also he is now using a 2.2 liter sohc engine from an early accord instead of the D. Race only is right. He is the man tho.
