Decent universal mufflers?
If i wanted custom piping and was to buy a universal muffler which muffler would probably the best to get? Should I stick with Tanabe, HKS, or greddy?
it depends on what you like and want. i like the flush and clean cut mufflers meaning by a little slanted upward and sticks right under the rear bumper.
i'd personally like the apexi universal n/a muffler (90mm tip)
if your checking out eBay, they have those generic mufflers which are good but crazy loud and some sound like **** too.

If it's going to be loud I would want it to sound deep. So then I'd probably go with a tanabe universal muffler. Other then that I think i'd go with a rsr or an hks universal muffler. What do you guys think good choice?
no clue, haven't looked into it yet. if ur car is an 01-02 flow master has the 60 series for your car....but the clip on the site has be baffled. sounds a little ricey but at the same time....deep n mono tone. then again, when you close your eyes and listen, it sounds like your TRYING to be a muscle car. i dunno...all I know is, i want either a new muffler or the flange back type deals. only cause my exhaust tip looks like doo doo. word. any ideas? oh yeh, looking for QUIET as possible. heard hks is good...what do you think peoples?
^agreed
www.importhorizon.com carrys them for a pretty cheap price.
but if your looking for colors, its hard to find them for a cheap price.
and the hks universal muffler...which kind? theirs the titanium tip kind/stainless steel. more details. but hks overall makes some nice *** good ****
if your not worrying about police profiling your car and your exhaust, go for it.

Borla straight through muffler without a resonator. It's a universal muffler that tucks back where you don't see it. Cheap and high flowing. Sounds deep and rich. For $200 or less you can have a shop fab up a custom 2.25 cat-back setup.
I can't stand the look of a stainless fart can poking out the back of my car.

the cheapest straight through that has metal or carbon packing and isnt over 3" or so... somthing that doenst have that thin lip sticking out the back thats so ricy (think greddy cat back ugh)
and please.... PLEASE - for the sake of all of us who dont want to be grouped with cars that sound like chainsaws - run a 2.5"x18 resonator it doesnt rob power when running 2.5 because 2.5 is already to big... in fact now that i think of it it probly would save you some low end because more backpressure

the HKS would be the hi power muffler, RS-R would be the exmag (which I can't fond on the net only the emag GTII), the tanabe would be the racing medallion . I'm leaning towards the tanabe because of the deal and it's reputation.
