Exhasut and Intake Suggestions and Prices???

I'm looking for an exhaust system (probably cat back) and intake (probably AEM) and was wondering what you guys suggest. I was also wondering what online retailers or wholesalers or reputable to buy the OEM parts - how much do you think installation is on the intake and exhaust (I'm under warranty and don't want to do it myself b/c I don't trust myself).

I'm looking for an exhaust and intake that'll give me a decent performance gain with minimal price. With installation and everything I want to spend about 500-700 (if I you guys think cheaper then I'm all for it!). I also don't need an obnoxiously loud exhaust (I don't want to hear it much while driving). Thanks

Bottom line, to see any power gains.. Get boosted....and I do reccommend searching.

Exhaust, depends on the sound you want and what youre willing to spend.
A decent catback will run you at least $450-600 depending on manufacturer.

Intake, its a toss up: AEM or Injen... CAI or SRI.. Research it, its all preference.

I suggest check the For Sale forum, good stuff in there. PM Dezod, he is one of our vendors here, he'll take care of you.

to stay in the $500 zone, it's possble but tough if you want gains with a good intake and exahust. Good cat backs can go from $350 and up.... The AEM V2.... usually $230+. DO you have an EX or LX/DX?

Yeah, research may be the only way.... I mean... most ppl dont slap things into their cars and go to the dyno. There are products out there... just gotta look and experiment.

heres what i would do if i had 500-700$

exhaust: apexi world sport I - like $420 from www.importhorizon.com i choose this because it adds mid-range torque and thats what i want. i choose torque over hp becuz my 03 ex lacks torque big time. the 2nd thing... i live in a city where the cops trip over the smallest ****. so the apexi world sport I has the quiter sound compared to those other exhausts out their on the market.

intake: i bought an AEM SRI because it was cheapest and here in california, 510... it rains at random times so i didnt go with the cold air becuz didnt want it suckin in water at those crazy storm days. so far, i like the aem sri cuz it was cheap and brand new... $114. dont expect too much from it tho, but its a good start. u can hear the intake after 3000x rpms, very nice.

hope this helps. goodluck findin parts

Hey - thats sounds pretty decent - I'll have to do some research before I buy anything but it falls right into my price range. The cops in my town go crazy over loud exhausts and are notorious for pulling over cars with altezza's and euro's and such. Thanks for the suggestion
