fatmat a solution to loud catback??
getting tired of my loud exhaust. im wondering how well fatmat would keep the exaust sound out. ive seen the fatmat website selling 100 sq ft off the stuff for 100 bucks. if i buy this stuff will it solve my problem? is there any other company that makes similar stuff?

i was thinking about completly covering my trunk with the stuff. i would serve a dual purpose. help the subs and keep exhaust and road noise out. would this work?
maybe even some lining the underside of the car as well.

if i do your entire car, it will decrease road noise alot, but i doubt it will do anything for the sound of your exhaust, because the exhaust sound is external, it doen not come from one point in your car.
may i suggest a silencer ir a new meffler, will cost less.

acidbaby: my fireball came with a silencer but its still quite loud on the freeways. i went to minekie to have them bend the pipes cus the flange rattled against the underbody, and the rear rattled against the swaybar. the exhaust does rattle a bit when i hit past 3k rpms

I have a thermal rear section and it's been bothering me lately. You wouldn't think it, but that exhaust has a VERY deep bass sound to it, especially when letting off the gas. All the noise comes in the car. Any ideas on what to do? I'm only keeping it because of the looks, and stock is quiet but terrible in appearance.

^^i know exactly the sound you are talking about its like a dull hum.
the sound doesnt only come from the back of the car.
civics arent know for being low on out side road noise.
maybe just brown bag or fat mat the whole car and get a sf turbo to make up for all the weight.

It sounds like a subwoofer constantly playing. I have dynamat all over the car and nothing. Seems like the exhaust gets louder with age. My car is so quiet except for the exhaust sound.

i'm actually considering going back to stock exhaust cuz my tanabe is getting to loud for me and i lost the silencer when i was tray sliding (only tightened it with my fingers instead of a wrench
.) or i might just buy another silencer. but yes it sucks having a loud exhaust when you just want to listen to the stero.

I know this sounds like the most dumb thing on the planet, but I bought a cat-back that sounds great and is only loud when you want it to be from megan racing. I know I know, a name not fitting for a racing company. I had to adjust the piping a little, but it sounds great, expecially with a header.
