Auto tranny
Ok I did a search and still couldn't find what I wanted so here it go's....
I have a 01 civic AUTOMATIC...and I am really unsure about how to strengthen the tranny. I know that an automatic can handel more hp and tq but how much more? I have been looking into getting a bigger TB and ported intake manifold as well as port and poloshing my head. I know this would give my significant power gains and I don't want to destroy my tranny because this is my daily driver. So if anyone has any input or sugestions on what to do please let me know. (I want to stick with the auto tranny, so a conversion is out of the question)
thanks

The only thing to do if you don't want to go get it all strengthened is torque converter and tranny cooler. Please like www.levelten.com can probably beef up that bad boy too.

they also have a trans. kit for our car you can buy for about 450 and then install
it yourself or have someone do it.
no the 450 kit is something different. The $3000 setup is a complete package, including a new Tranny computer I beleive.Either way I think 3g's for a bullet proof transmission isnt that much.Hell The Subaru's Rally Car Tranny cost $80,000 alone, and I've seem some $20,000 Trannies in a few car mags!

bulletproof tranny? bleh, this aint a 1000hp supra, with the set up he listed i'll be surprised if he breaks the 200hp mark. a overhaul kit and torque converter should be all you need to handle that extra power without the threat of losing your daily driver.
I certainly wouldn't attempt working on a tranny. Especially one that is in your primary vehicle. You will most likely screw it up. Take it to a professional.
Lucid, I think you answered xjoshmillerx's question. Level 10 seems like a excellent tranny buildup solution.
Now if only I could find a spare auto tranny.
