Well this looks like something I would like to get, but looking at the web site to order one - I only see it for the 02 SI, is this the same transmission as ours & does it come with the new springs?

Well Ill know if it fits or not in the next 2 weeks. And the springs are an $30 option. As far as a road test Im still waiting on my turbo manifold, intake manifold/TB and meth. injection kit first.

OK, I just ordered one as well, we will both be guinee pigs for this experiment. But the real test is to see who can break the transmission first with some real HP!!!

Just Wondering RiceBurner, how much boost are you running?

Keep us posted.

I am about to order the phantom grip also. You will probably get your DH stuff before I do because you ordered the works. I am sending my ported stock IM/ 74mm TB back to josh and he is going to give me a custom IM/TB setup.

In the end we will have close to the same setup. Are you planning on doing any internals? I think I am going to go ahead and do pistons, rods and block guard. I think I could use the upgraded internals to handle a little more boost.

Are you boosted yet? If not you will soon be looking into the LSD soon. I can not get traction untill 3rd gear. At a 40mph roll when I punch the gas the right tire breaks loose and spins. causing bad torque stear. Once you get above 200hp there is no traction and get bad one wheel spin.

the more members who get boosted the more who will be looking into a LSD setup. Is there anyone who has the quaife lsd installed?

I want to go with what ever will work the best. I have spoken with a few local people who run phantom grip with no problems. Quaife sounds like a better engineered product but I dont think they make one for our car yet.

There is no point to start another flame thread and make bandwagon comments. I am sure Mustang owners call us all a Rice bandwagon. Its all how you look at things.

lol... we're all on the rice bandwagon

Quaife makes nothing for our car yet, at least that's what I've seen other in here say many times.

Has anyone tried welding their differentials together yet? I know it's not a real flashy solution, but I'mnot sure what the results are. I know one perosn that did it and he likes it, but I'm not convinced by one person.

I really wish a good LSD woudl come out, and yes I too think quaife's are mush better engineered, for one thing they are application specific.

Personally I wouldn't weld my diff unless my car was for track use only, as you are going to have some SERIOUS drivability issues....The spider gears are meant to give as you turn - if you weld your diff they won't give at all during turns.

As far as the bandwagon comment guns - I wasn't saying an LSD is a bad thing, but that its been discussed here many times before, no one seemed to say they were getting one - now all of a sudden everyone wants one.....

I personally would love one, is it necessary? No....Personally for me, boost is necessary before anything else! Someday I'll have boost....
