Question AC & PS Question...

I'm planning on getting one of those new dc racing crank pulleys, and i want to take out my power steering and my a/c. My question is do i need to take out the unit completely to no use it... or can i just take the belts off? What do i do?

you can take the belts off or you could remove it completely. It will save some weight if you take it out, but then you will have to put it back in if you want it back in.

why take of your a/c?

it runs off a clutch and gear not the belt.

Alternator and ps or on the belt.
5hp is freed up from removing the ps but is a litlle stiffer to turn.

I thought the DH pully added 20hp to the wheels?

That is only on turbo cars. On a N/A car it should put down around ten, even with running AC and PS.

i think that the AC is on the same pully as the drive belt. another pully
atached to that pully runs the PS.
there are 3 different pullys offered by DH.(i think)
1. drive only
2. drive and AC
3. drive AC and PS

the under driving and or removal of ac and power steering are not the only way that the pulley frees up power. the main effect comes from the wieght reduction over stock. about a pund DH versus ...i think they said 7 lbs for stock. less wieght to turn at the crank = more power to the wheels

yeah u got it right. The stock crank pulley weighs 6 lbs though. The Dh racing dual crank pulley weights 12 oz. and the single groove pulley weighs 6 oz. That a big differnce when ur engine is running like 6000 rpm.
