i got my 03 civic lx in august and i have about $1800 left to pay to my parents in order to pay my part. after paying my expenses i figure that i'll have about $1500 to use on my car before i go off to college. i have some ideas about where the money is going, but i have a few questions about performance mods. i badly want to speed up my painfully slow civic, but will anything make that much of a difference for my price range? i've had friends tell me that i should forget about performance and just worry about looks because unless i get a turbo or something it won't make a difference. so, do intakes, exhaust, headers, etc. make that much of a difference? if not, i'll just use my money elsewhere. thanks.

I agree with your friends on this. While others may argue. Imo It is not worh it to throw $1500 away for minor gains. DHRacing is pretty popular on this site. They seem to have some good get fast quick mods for your price range. But imo I would use that type of money for ICE or looks. I guess it depends on how much power your looking for though.

Maybe keep saving for a turbo?

for $1500 i would get suspension, DHRacing crank pulley and clutch, flywheel, exhaust.. and save the rest for turbo... that way you only buy stuff you will keep if you go turbio...
