List of bolt-on's for more HP
All these estimated gains you all are talking about...are they just peak hp? Because you know peak power isnt always the best. For all you know, a mod could have added as much as 10hp in a certain RPM range, but only 1-3 peak hp. But the car will feel and be much faster. What we nedd is a dyno chart!
An AEM CAI will give you more than 1-5 depending on your RPM range, a dyno is def. needed to see the numbers and gains.
I would think that for starters this would be good, its what I am looking at.
AEM cai (have)
DC Sports header
Thermal R&D SL Exhaust 2 1/4"
Eventually I will go turbo but that is so far down the road. I like a nice mix of looks, sound, interior work, and performance. Work a little bit in each area is what I do. I dont need crazy fast, just some quickness over stock.
I am not big on engine switches, my 94 SL1 was slow, but people told me to put the 1.9 DOHC SL2 engine in. I had no ambition to, I would've rather turboe'd the SOHC I had to be unique and sure it wouldnt be as fast as a DOHC with a Turbo, but it would def. have more ***** than a stock SL1.

i have a NOS Dry System on my civic but yet im not stock either. Also BigMac who are you kidding where in the hell can you find a K20 engine with everything needed for 2K? Look at everyone that did the K20 swap, it nickel and dimed them to death. A part here a part there. And it ended up costing well of 7K for the motor swapped and installed. D17 can get you power I can tell you that. You just have to be patient.
Pully don't really give you much horse power, but they give you about 15lbs of torque. At least thats what my friends says, if your ever, thinkging about getting a trouble, hold off on the headers.
15 pound feet of torque from pulleys!?? that's awesome! forget about the hp, you need to worry about the torque levels. If any engine has a lot of torque then the hp numbers are gonna make you smile. Torque will help our Honda's win races!! I don't know what other mods other than pulleys that will give you torque but I wanna find out. And any K20 is going to be or 3k to begin with, and I can already take the Base RSX. So no the only K20 worth getting is the one sitting in the RSX Type S or the Integra Type R K20. But the Si or the Base RSX K20 would be a waste.

There is absolutely no way that pulleys could provide 15 lb/ft of torque on our cars. Your friend is an idiot. pulleys cut the loss from the flywheel to the wheels. There is barely even that much torque lost even after the drivetrain.
Why don't all of us proud SOHC D17 owners get every bolt on known to man and then start getting internals like I am. Go all motor before you turbo or supercharge if you plan on it. Make sure you have a sport or race clutch and a modified or lightened flywheel so your car can take it also. A turbo would probablly be a waste of money after you get every bolt on and internal though, but imagine if you had everything listed above? **DROOWLS** I'm just gonna get every bolt on first, then get DH Racings traction package, and then get all the internals I can get. Hopefully after all of that my motor can take a 100 shot of nitrous
