So who actually got the Helix Power Tower?
Yes, I know there's a lot of threads on this. But it's been a few weeks since all the discussions of who's getting it and who's dynoing it and who's lying, etc., and I thought it'd be nice to have a thread with only valid info posted so that anyone interested in it wouldn't have to read through 5 pages of arguing to try and find the relevent info.
So.
1. Who got (and installed) this part?
2. What were your results like? (dyno, butt-dyno, GTech, etc.)
3. What type of intake do you have, and did it fit with your intake?
Thanks,
IronFist

Nothing - there was supposed to be some "dyno party" on the 29th of Aug if I remember correctly. But it seems as if he skipped out or something. Supposedly Circa X gave it to him to dyno. Who knows what the real story is though....
I seriously doubt that this thing works, read my posts about it in the group buy section where kazell scammed, oh *cough* got one from Circa....

Guys we're trying to avoid name calling and stuff here. That's why I started a new thread for all this.

I dont have on on my car, but I do however have it on my truck. It improved gas a couple mpg and I did feel a bit of increase in power. Its in a 98 chevy Z71 3/4ton puck up.

ImportRacer2123, can you post a pic?
Does anyone know if it will fit with a K&N FIPK II?

I bought it 2 months ago and I didn't really feel anything at all so I took it back...I have an AEM CAI...I'm not saying the other guys just think they feel a difference, I just didn't....I have a lot of other mods as well...You'll probably just have to try it yourself

Hmm, cuz my intake is already pretty close to the hood so if it raised it an inch I don't think it would fit. Does your K&N Typhoon have the same shape up top as the FIPK?

Cool thanks.
Hey cwick187, who let you take it back? I want to buy it from them in case it doesn't do anything.

I would think that in order to get the full effect of a throttle body, you would want to have larger fuel injectors installed at the same time. The way I see it, if you already have a CAI, throttle body, header and cat back exhaust system, youve dramatically improved the air flow in and out, and the car will run very lean.
I believe stock injectors pump out around 175 cc. With the above mentioned mods in place, I would think you would benifit from installing 200 cc injectors.

I bought it from a performance shop here in town...I know the owner and I made sure that if I wasn't satisfied, he would let me bring it back.....I can tell you that it was not, by no means, worth the $85 I spent on it. Try it out and you'll know what I'm talking about
No, and I don't plan to...There is no need unless your building up your engine to race all the time...I just have the basic bolt-on's...CAI, Hp race header, Cat back exhaust, Apexi VAFC, intake manifold..I understand what your saying though, I just don't see the point on going with bigger injectors unless your going turbo, nitrous, or internal work.
Plus, if you want to go with bigger injectors, the whole fuel system and ignition needs to be done as well, fuel rail, fuel regulator, fuel pump and ignition coils that can burn the higher volume of fuel etc... Not to mention that half that stuff isn't even available for our cars yet

Again, really not an expert here, but it does seem logical to me. I like to think theres a simillarity between engine performance mods and stereo equipment.
Example= air intake, fuel delivery, exhaust.
stereo, amp, speaker.
The only way to really get the best out of your stereo equipment is to follow the above example, and ..well I think you get the point.

I guess the point im saying is that if you have done all the air in and air out mods, fuel delivery would be the next stage.
But ya, good luck finding all that for our cars.
