Water Bypass for Intake

Who all had a water bypass valve installed on their CAI? How much did the install cost? How important is it? It rains pretty often here so I went ahead and got one installed on my K&N Typhoon CAI cost me $70 bucks but I bought a filter charger kit also. Just looking for feedback

Thanks

It's been posted to hell and back... I'm sure you've read about it during your 360+ posts you've done ;P Anyway, I think bypass valves are worthless. Hydrolocking your engine is a rare case. It requires virtually submerging your entire intake filter underwater. I've been through water that seeped through the door sills and have yet to hydrolock. Also, I've read that the bypass valve takes awake horsepower, defeating the purpose of the intake in the first place.

i have it, i didnt notice any difrence between with the bypass valve on or before i put it on. with the bypass valve (out here any way) if you hydro lock ur car honda has been known to replace the motor... if it had the bypass valve. and when it rains it has a tendency to flood more often then not so for me it was worth it, not to take a chance.

the only time there is/would be a power loss is if the bypass valve is activated. and has to release water. then in that case the power loss is like going from cai to stock. and lasts untile the bypass is down doing its thing.
(from aim and numorous dealers) and (my personal experiance)

install was free-diy-bypass valve was $28
