Hey does anyone know if the aem cam gears are the same for each model civic and how much hp and torque they give you and how much hp and torque a new pulley system will add?

Rep Power: 0 good question...i just bought a cam gear for my 02 civic lx (5-spd) and im having this shop put in on for me...from what i kno they add like 5 hp or something...lol...some guy on a forum said that cams give a little bit more throttle response and its a little faster in 1st and 2nd gear...it also sounds better when its idle. I think they make cams for civic 2001 above (dx,lx) and they have another set for the (ex) 2001 above...

Rep Power: 343 cam gears are NOT bolt on power.
you wont get squat from putting them on. as far as I know.
pulleys? 1-2 hp? and most likely only at few specific point in the powercurve... basically, not worth it.
same goes for the cam gear on a lightly/medium modded civic. you dont need it unless you need to tune your engine's powercurve.
and as for yet, I haven't really seen an NA 7thgen that really needed a cam gear.

Rep Power: 0 you'll still need to adjust the degree on the cam gear? if it is just set at 0 degree then you basically still have your stock cam gear on. to actually get the best degree is to dyno it at each degree to see which give more power. last time i heard was that it was best at -3 or -4 degree.
