Rep Power: 239 My headlight Retrofit(56k No Way!!)
So I have been slacking off on my retro...Slowwhitecivic told me to get off my *** and get to work, so i did and here is the current progress with the help of Slowwhitecivic who lives miles away
1st is the Projectors..Lexus D3S Bixenon projectors with solenoid for hi/lo beam
2nd Set of Headlights(Note these have already been blacked out not the same i used)
Sanded and then painted
and then blacked out
3rd is a set of stove bowls and some jb weld
Here is how slowwhitecivic explained it to me..pretty simple
Here is the aiming part(curtosy of HidPlanet)
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/view...=17073&start=0
And now for the almost finished product from production to almost finish
Pics of them jb welded to housing
I forgot the wiring part...will take pics when i have time..Basically bought the Bixenon wiring harness from The Retrofit Source(this can also be made but too lazy)
http://store.theretrofitsource.com/p...b4e0bc3a701245
My cutoff line
Random Pics:
Letting them dry over night
Just Jb welded to housing
Test Fitting
Install pics(night shots to come possibly tonight)

nice! looks like you got everything setup properly. wall shots look great. did you get any pics of the hi beam? looks like these are gonna be fun fitting in tycs lol. the solenoid is really on the way.
tsx will be about the same as e46, maybe a little less intense and a bit wider. not worth swapping imo.

Damn, that looks clean. I love the way retrofits look in the 01-03 housing.
Gearbox, I guess it's because I want more color and I hate the big Z step on the e46, which lacks lighting onto the ground further away on the left. I do like the intensity though.
My friend has a TFX setup and uses 5000k bulbs and looks more intense than mine. haha

well yeah fx > e46/tsx lol. if you can fit it, go with the fx and clear lens. tsx will not be much different except cleaner cutoff. and tsx is just single xenon which is okay i guess since you have halogen highs, but why not have two hi beams?

pics dont do the hi beams justice. they are a ton brighter than the lo beam (which are just okay).

yes the "should" be sanded and then primed. and any automotive paint is fine as long as you primer-ed the surface.

okay i was just wondering cause ive read that some people sand it and others dont, is there a way i can cheat the sanding part and just get a paint that goes over the chrome paint?
