Honda Starting Problem

Honda starting is unpredictable. I drove from work and made a stop, turn off the car, returned to the car, tried to start the car, it turned over strong, but it wouldn't start. I let set for a few minutes and it lit back up. Got it home and it repeated the same thing.

Can some one advise me on this issue. Thank you!

Re: Honda Starting Problem

Is it getting fuel and spark? Those are two important things to check. When is the last time you have done a tune up?

Re: Honda Starting Problem

Thank you for you response; I just gave it a tune up about three + months ago, car has been running rough of late very bad gas mileage and shakes when idling in neutral. This problem of not starting after driven for a while is a new one. Trying to nip it in the bud before I or my wife get stuck some where! Thanks again.

Re: Honda Starting Problem

Random thought... did you get your battery checked already? Any dead cells? And if no dead cells, can anyone take a multimeter to your starter and test to make sure it's properly functioning? My fiancee's Maxima needed his starter replaced several times because the solenoid was the issue each time. Look into that if you haven't already

Re: Honda Starting Problem

If it's still not starting, you might want to have a compression test done. Check your spark plugs and see if you're getting spark from them. You might want to remove your distributor cap and remove the Igintion Control Module (ICM), and your Ignition Coil, and take it your local auto parts store and have them run a diagnostic check on them.
