Advice on my turbo build

Ive got a fifth gen ex with a d16z6 and im racking up parts for turbo. I'm wondering if i put the following turbo supporting mods on the engine, if it will be enough to keep it in good shape, because it has over 200,000 on it. Mods i have parts for are:

CP rods and pistons
arp head studs
new rod bearings
all new gaskets and seals

plus of course all of the actual turbo related items, im just wondering if that is enough for my engine to be able to handle the turbo.

Everything you said sounds good. Those are the main components that 200K would effect. Depending on the amount of boost you could sleeve the walls. I would consider a valve train upgrade as well, with a port and polish on the head.

You can run a stock valve train, but it'll be the power limiting factor after a while (cam, really). Are you upgrading your cooling system as well? Also, what are you using as fuel management? Upgrading you fuel pump would also be a good idea to keep up with te increased fuel demand when the turbo's spooled up.

Re: Advice on my turbo build

As far as cooling goes, i just bought a 1 1/2 inch mishimoto radiator. fuel pump i already upgraded, and for fuel management I'm thinking 400cc injectors and a hondata s300 ecu chip. and the a full dyno tune once fthe project is done. but im definitely not set on that. Any suggestions?

Re: Advice on my turbo build

Just to satisfy my curiosity, what kinda turbo setup you going for?

Specifically, type of turbo (t3, t4, hybrid, water/oil, just oil cooled, BB or straight journal), internal/external wastegate, power/boost goals, return or returnless-style fuel system, etc?

also, more on cooling, stock fan(s) or you going with a higher capacity slim fan?

Back when I was boosted (did it the "cheap" way and used a piggyback because I was young and dumb at the time), I kept my engine stock (D17A2) with a stock fuel pump, but upgraded from OEM 230cc injectors to RSX-S 310cc injectors. The D17 could (supposedly) run 8psi on a stock block with no more than upgraded injectors no problem. Was a fun drive, made (according to my dyno sheet) 147whp on 2.5 psi (problem with the wastegate) and still made 360-380 miles to a tank assuming I didn't abuse the boost.

Good choice in engine management. Not the part you want to cheap out on.

Re: Advice on my turbo build

The turbo I bought is a garrett t4 water/oil cooled. As far as fans go, I havent really thought about it yet, but I tore into the engine today. Got the rods, pistons and head studs in, honed the cylinder walls. As far as blow off valve and wastgate go, is it ok to go cheap on either of those? Im starting to run out of money, and I will post pictures soon.

Re: Advice on my turbo build

Also im going with an external wastegate. And with the engine mods that I have I think I will be efficient to 500 HP. But for daily driving I want to be around 250.
