~~HELP~~ d16 swap to b16 or b18
i have a 93 honda civic ex with an automatic d16 and i want to build turbo charged b16 or b18 for a decent amount of money (nothing to outrageous in price) obviously im gonna have to change out the ecu and wire harness n possibly the radiator and also send the engine out to have the compression lowered (especially if its the b16 i hear they run higher compression than the b18) n im have to have forged the piston rods upgrade bearings and different piston heads correct me if im wrong my main question is will a b16 or b18 bolt directly in or do i have to move the motor mounts any one know what else is needed this is my first honda build
Re: ~~HELP~~ d16 swap to b16 or b18
A b18 or B16 will drop directly into the same place as a d16 or d15, they use the same mounting points. depending on what year motor you use you might have to change out the bracket on the timing belt side and on the back of the motor (1996+). you will need the correct harness and ECU, correct axles for the and upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose, and throttle cable for the corresponding motor.
