Re: Turbo or Swap?

A properly turboed d16 would be responsive and produce more power than the b18c and way more than an ls b18, and be MUCH cheaper than the b18c swap, plus easier to do, and more fuel efficient. It all depends on what you want. If your going for making it as simple as possible and willing to sacrifice a little power go b18c, otherwise turbo the d16. This is all assuming your d16 is in good condition and up to date on maintenance. If swapping the b18c your looking at over 3k to swap it, the ls b18 is much cheaper but also only a 5 hp upgrade from your d series and not much more torque, but a considerable loss in gas mileage and lower redline. I had an ls swapped crx, it wasn't slow but wasn't really fast either, I just rode in a turbo d15 mini me in an eg hatch that pulled good from below 3k rpm and still hit over 200whp and that was pretty quick, and I haven't had the pleasure of riding in anything with the b18c but looking at hp I'd assume itd be a hair slower than the turbo d15 if swapped in an eg civic. Hope this helps!
