Turbocharge D16

I am looking to turbo my d16 i am just wondering how hard or easy it is? Or if you have any idea how much it would cost to get done professional? Where should i look to get a decent turbo kit for under a 1000 for the D16?

Re: Turbocharge D16

A decent turbo under 1k does not exist. Those turbos will just cost you more money in the future repairing your engine,or even buy a new engine/car.I'm not sure if it's hard enough though, but a decent turbo is atleast 4k.Maybe 3k.

Yeah it'll destroy your engine.Even on 5psi your engine will die sooner or later.

Re: Turbocharge D16

A turbo set-up that won't destroy your motor would be no less than around $2500, unfortunately modding cars isn't cheap.

Re: Turbocharge D16

I've read some posts online that getting junk yard parts might be an option but as we've all learned through out life "caveat emptor"

I have 5 personal friends that have bought the eBay full Turbo kits for their d15 and d16. Motors with all stock parts except they put in 440 injectors. And all running 8psi and 2 of them have been running @ 8psi for a few yrs now and never had any problems!! And as for the rest! No problems yet either. And I and doing the same just I am buying my Turbo setup piece by piece on eBay to more of what I want as a setup for wastegate type of Turbo manifold and bov ect. But ya u can always just take the eBay Turbo and just turn around and re sell it and get a different Turbo if u don't feel that safe about the Turbo
