D16Z6 Swapped for a B16(A?)

I have a 1993 Civic EX with a D16Z6 motor.

I love it.

I want more.

Lol, Please tell me, Which is the best B16 motor? I see quiet a few. I know nothing of B16's rather than, their Dohc. Which is why I want one. SOHC isnt cutting it.

Basically, I want to ask you guys before I go investing money into this. Whats the 'Best' motor to swap in place of a D16? Is there much of a Difference between the B16 and the B18? I figured B16 because its smaller and lighter, Yet still DOHC. I also figured it would be easier to get in place of a D16.

I dunno know, I have never swapped to a different motor..

Also, What all is needed? I know Ill need the wiring harness and ECU. But is there any major mods needed for the chassis? Like, Do I need to get any type of new wheel assembly parts? Will the B16 or B18 axles work with what is there already?

Tax Returns are soon. Ready to rock this piece and shorten my 0-60mph time :P

B16 is good, B18 is slightly heavier, but slightly more powerful, you could even go B20 if you wanted to. What route you go is entirely up to you.

There are many guides available for the exact parts needed for the exact swap you decide to go with, but mounts, subframe axle, ecu, harness are some of the basics almost any swap will require.

Re: D16Z6 Swapped for a B16(A?)

Sweet, Sooo... B20? Im taking that is the newest model of engine listed, and probably cost the most. B16 would be the cheapest right?

Also... I may just want to buy a shell with the b16 already in it... What would I look for?
Acuras?
Accords?
I never seen one in a civic, stock at least.

Im guessing some type of Integra or GSR.

Re: D16Z6 Swapped for a B16(A?)

im looking to swap a b18c1 in my 94 civic when i blow my engine. 170 hp and throw a turbo on it, nice rice. but i think b16 is too small, and b20 is too heavy personally. b18c1 is nice 170hp and then there is the b18c5 which is 187 hp like the top modded stock engine. i think you need engine, trans, ecu, and axles, a complete swap. good luck and let me know what you decide. im hoping to have a 300 hp civic when im done!
