dash lights, speedomitor, gas and temp gauge, and turn signals do not work

Hello,
I have a 1992 civic and I replaced a tail light yesterday and this morning my dash lights, speedomitor, gas and temp gauge, and turn signals did not work, and the automatic shift lock was on. I have owned my car since 1992 and have never had the shift lock on. All fuses are ok.
Help and thanks,
John

Check all your grounds, and make sure you check both fuse boxes not just the interior one (there is another under the hood). If your grounds are corroded or not making proper contact it'll make all sorts of odd electrical issues in the car.

ok, thanks,... I checked the fuses under the hood and the battery is ok. Where are the ground wires other than the one to the battery. I know it is old...

Make sure both your tail and brake lights are working in the rear. (your shift interlock is tied to the brake circuit)

Look for a fuse named "small lights" in the under hood box.

Check the "tail light" fuse , then you have to roll up the passenger window.
