My First Post Dash lighting help, bad ground?
My First Post Dash lighting help, bad ground?
Well this is my first post here this civic(1992 Civic Coupe) is my daily driver, I bought it for 500 bucks with 248k on it, and it has 256k on it now
. So I've only put about 7K on it in two semesters of commuting. The only work I've had to do so far is new tail light bulbs, a new thermostat, and a new radiator cap. So I'm pretty happy with my investment for 40+mpg.
My problem is the dash lights, they work periodically, but for the most part they don't. Its not the bulbs as it works sometimes, but I think it is a faulty ground for the dash/instrument cluster because it'll work for a while but then if I go over a bump the cluster/dash lights will go out. Its really not a huge problem for me but it would be nice to have instrument cluster lights at night so i can tell how fast I'm going. Does anyone know where those electronics are grounded.
All my other lights work fine, aside from the dash/instrument panel lights so I 95% think its a faulty ground.
Thanks!

Try moving the dimmer **** for the dash lights back and forth and see if they flicker or try to work. On some early models the dimmer will cause this issue (not sure if your year is or not)
