Looking at buying a '81 5 speed Civic Wagon! Help needed!

I will be looking at a 2nd gen '81 5 speed civic wagon for my daughter. Is it easy to find most parts at local parts stores or will I be dping a lot of shopping online & even then are parts reasonably priced? Also this old of a Honda is new to me. Anything I should really look for when looking it over or driving it? the seller thinks it needs carb work (Weber), & it could be as easy as that or actually a more sinister & pricey isdue. Thanks for any & all help.

Parts availability can be a problem for these, especially when it comes to mechanicals. It's a cool car as long as you're willing to treat it like a project (which this ultimately is). If you're looking for a reliable form of transportation, I'd look at Civics between 1992 and 2005.

Would probably want to get something safer and more reliable if your daughter is driving it. I would go 96+

you are joking, right?
it's almost as old as you... Probably hard to even get cars in the scrap yards to pull parts...
you are in the forums, so you have internet.
just search for parts and see for yourself...
