1.5 66kw dual injected wont start when the engine is warm
So, the car starts fine when it sits overnight, but when it reaches operating temperature it starts acting up.When i give it some gas the engine wont rev up and make like a preassure release bang(video link added).when the engine stalls it wont start again, it kind of wants to start and sometimes does but its not working properly(issue shown in the video) the engine check light is off. the main relay clicks and fuelpump is working.

Backfires, and during cranking it goes 'crank crank crank sneeze, crank crank crank sneeze, crank crank crank sneeze'
Kinda sounds like an ignition problem, such as dist cap, rotor, plug wires.

took the distributor apart. the insides looked very nasty, filled with red dust, rotor was cracked, plastic on the coil was broken. all of it was very corroted and dirty. decided to order a new one. i hope it will solve my problem. it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive, but i think its wort the wait, because in estonia they cost 3 times than the ebay one. i have not ordered it yet. has anybody bought the ebay distributor, do they work properly and do they last?

filled with red dust
Sometimes those distributors would make a lot of noise as they destroyed themselves internally.

hi,
Its been a while, but i got my new distributor from the mail and installed it. the car starts with no problems now and idles around 700rpm, but it starts choking and backfires around 3500rpm. i changed the metal thing with the pins which connents to the cam, maybe i put that in the wrong way? oh, and the engine check light is now on, which was off with the old distributor

did a little digging around the world wide web and got so far that i should start with cleaning the fuel system and replaceing the fuel filter. has anyone had this problem? What could be my fix?

Hi,
So I went to the iscpection with the ef and a new problem popped up. exhaust gas(Co?) is way too high, its supposed to be under 0.3 but mine is 1.1... the ispector kept it stady on 2500rpm but the car was waveing between 2400 and 2600, he said that it might be the problem. But what is causing it to do that?
Thanks..

Hi.
tried to bleed my cooling system, but the air just kept coming. It did not stop i bled it from the radiator cap and the nozzle on the hose that goes to the head. The car is giving me some white smoke from the exhaust and some liquid comes out that tastes sweet(maybe coolant). So im thinking that maybe my headgasket is blown or the head itself might be bent. Any ideas?

I can't help on the emissions failure.....
Search this forum for a stickied thread on overheating common causes reference. There are some head gasket checks in there.

yes
I took the head off the engine and the gasket was shattered. it was litteraly pieces. it did not overheat so i didnt think about the gasket, but when i took it apart i saw the problem.
the old gasket was some cheap *** ****(sorry about my french). i oredered a new head gasket, valve cover gasket and i will give the head to a specialist who will clean the valves and do everything needed to get the cylinderhead as good as new
I think I should create a whole thread for my civic, that would be more convenient than discussing it here.
