Civic smoking bad

Civic smoking bad

89 civic ex hatchback 158,000 miles smoking bad has had new valve seals
Has 155 to 162 psi in each cylinder hot cold was 160 across board need help can't seem to fix it

Smokes worse as the RPM goes up: Rings.


A compression test cannot evaluate oil control rings.

My 84 Civic started smoking and burning oil. I did the bit with valve seals. Didn't work. Did Auto-Rx and it stopped for a while. Finally I pulled the engine and rebuilt it because as a smoker it would not pass Cal smog. Everything inside was in great almost like new condition. The problem was that the oil control rings gave up. I was fooled too because the compression was at new car specs and the engine ran great, no drop in gas mileage, just sucked up a lot of oil.
