speedo acting funny

speedo acting funny

The speedo in my 94 civic DX is acting funny and I'm unsure about the problem it is sometimes dead on but other tines it goes up and back down from actual speed I'm going it jumps bad sometimes help me lol

Sounds like you need a new VSS (vehicle speed sensor).

This one would be electronic.

I used to see a lot of bad speedometers in these. Far more than bad VSS's.



I'd connect a scanner and check for any VSS code, then drive it and observe the vehicle speed reading on the scanner datalist, THEN decide if it may be a bad VSS or not.
