H22 swapped 95 civic hatch won't get spark. NEED HELP!!!!!

H22 swapped 95 civic hatch won't get spark. NEED HELP!!!!!

Hi i have a 95 civic hatch with a h22 swap. One day i was driving and the car kinda just shut off. It didn't exactly just shut off tho it felt as if the the gas pedal just didn't do anything anymore. then i just coasted to a stop and it shut off then wouldn't start up at all. I checked for spark and i have none. I have fuel and compression and timing belt didn't snap or skip.

Ive tried a new coil a new rotor and cap and a new icm. I Checked the ignition fuse and ecu fuse and all others, there all good. The main relay clicks if that matters. ummm iv also checked for power to the coil, that's good.

The one day i went out to my car with another coil (like the 3rd good one i tried) and it started up. I drove it like 10 miles to my buddys house and it seemed good. Then i started it up to drive into the garage and it did the same thing and hasn't started since.

Thanks in advance for all your help. I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS THING UP AND RUNNING AGAIN THANKS.

Do you have a resistor box wired in for the injectors?

H22 injectors require a resistor box to run them. They will run without one, but eventually it will F them up or F the ECU up

Aight ill have to check. Do you have any other suggestions to checkout or try when I get a chance to get out to my car?

are you running an external or after market coil?!

get rid of it and get an OEM internal coil and cap for internal coil. I can almost guarantee that coil is causing all our problems.

I had one on my old EG with an H22, and it gave me problems non-stop.

I've tryed 3 different coils. 2 msd and a accel an they dint fix it tho. And I don't have the money rite now to go back to oem. Do you know if the main relay would stop me from getting spark?

So do you think it would be a good idea to replace/test the main relay even tho the fuel pump primes and the relay clicks? Or do you think the problem lies elsewhere?

Pull the main relay out and resolder it. If you do it right, that should eliminate it as a possible cause.

70% of the time one thing goes out in the relay it doesn't take long for another to follow you could take it out and try to fix the contacts in the relay but you could take a chance of getting it to hot and just messing up the rest of the relay therefore wasting your time. If you can afford to just replace it. I know a lot of part houses don't let you take back electronic parts once they've been installed so barely plug the new one in so you don't leave marks on the relay so if I am wrong you can return the part if you've checked the distributor plugs wire ect. I'm sure its the relay I've replace two or three after wasting my time user the Hood when I should have been under he dash
