When the car is on drive the rpm is normal at about 1000 with my foot off the pedal, but as soon as it is on park the rpm starts to go up to about 2000 to 2200 after i leave it running it starts to lower and come back up. Can anybody explain this? maybe vacuum leak is what i'm told. and should i be worried? also while i'm driving the gas pedal seems to loose throttle, is this problem connected with changing rpm ... Please help.

First check your coolant level, and *** as needed. them properly bleed the coolant system and see if that helps.

Is your Check engine light on? if so, what are the codes?
