Rep Power: 0 OBD2 Scanner wont work on 1996 civic?
I bought a maxiscan ms309 from amazon. I was going to use it to check my check engine light. But when I go to scan, it always says "LINKING ERROR" I've already tested this scanner on my other cars and it works well? I tried changing the ecu(chipped), reading the codes manually by sticking a pin into the blue plug. (The code i get from the plug is the O2 sensor) But when I changed the sensor the check engine light is still on. What could be the problem?

After you change the sensor you need to restart the ECU. Normally you could do this with your scanner but since its not working I would just disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute or so. This will reset everything and if the light comes back on then the sensor didn't fix the issue or there is another issue.
