Car decelerates on freeway
Car decelerates on freeway
I am posting about my girlfriends car. She has a 93 honda civic with a 5 speed manual transmission. When driving on the freeway and traffic slows she will apply the brake and does not down shift from 5th gear. After a couple times of doing this the car will continue to decelerate when applying the gas. The brakes also feel stiff and she must pull off and turn off her car and turn it on. Any advice will help. Thanks.

Re: Car decelerates on freeway
dumb question but does she slow down to much to stay in 5th gear as you said she does not down shift.. if your too slow for the gear its going to lose power.
Otherwise, check all fluids, have you had any work done to the car? how old are the pads?
so when she pulls over and turns off the car this fixes the problem? and it only does it when slowing down on the highway??
