Rep Power: 0 Loss Of Brake Pressure
I Have a 95 Honda Civic DX and after perfroming my first brake job, I thought one of the bolts was broken off the caliper (because im used to two bolds holding a caliper onto the rotor). I took the old one off and reinstalled it and bled the brake lines. I have brake pressure for about 5 seconds then the petal goes down and is on the floor but stays there for about a minute and then the pressure is so low that the car starts moving with the brake on and I have to use the E-Brake to keep the car stopped. Can someone on here help me out to figure out what it is.
Thanks

Re: Loss Of Brake Pressure
Obvious question first? you sure your caliper has one bolt? my EX has two
Did you thoroughly bleed the system? The last time I had this issue it turned out to be a poor bleed job. If the pedal is going to the floor your master cylinder plunger/piston is probably shot. If the master cylinder had failed youd barely be moving the pedal. When you floor the pedal are you noticing any brake fluid loss? then i more so say plunger/piston.

Yea its a single bolt and the other side "floats" when you tighten the one bolt the other one slides down.. i thought it was 2 bolts before and i thought somebody broke the other bolt but i looked around the junkyard and the dx models had 1 bolt holding the caliper onto the rotor. and it does lose brake fluid slowly though.. im gonna do a blead today and reply what happens
