Engine Swap/compatibility question?

Engine Swap/compatibility question? I have a '95 dx civic with over 479,000km's on it. I want to swap the motor and put in a D16 out of an early 2000 civic so I can upgrade to VTEC and also have an engine with a lot less km's and more power. Will the engine fit and if so, will the transmission in my '95 dx bolt on to the engin or would I have to do some adjusting or put in a new transmission?
