95 civic LX 4 door roof damage help
Moved this request from the DIY forum as I did not get any responses there.
Last week, some slimeball took a baseball bat to some cars in the parking lot of my granddaughters apartment complex. Her 95 Civic 4 door LX was one of the victims. He broke the windshield and did some serious damage to the roof. The worst hit was right at the windshield/roof joint on the passenger side of the car. I'm thinking the roof panel will need to be replaced as I'm not sure I could fix it properly. There are also some "oil can" type dents in the center of the panel that won't stay popped out. A slight bit of pressure and they become large depressions again. My son-in-law had the windshield replaced so she could drive the car but I think that's going to cause complications while trying to fix the roof. I hopefully attached 2 pics of the damage.
Has anyone had to replace this panel? What is the procedure? I'm guessing I'm going to have to remove the entire headliner and the windshield, drill out the spot welds under the vinyl trim strips and remove the roof panel. I have not taken anything apart yet. I have the service manual but it does not cover removing the roof.
Looking for advice from someone with experience doing this. Honda no longer stocks the roof panel so I'm guessing a junkyard is my only option. Is this true?
Comments will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 95 civic LX 4 door roof damage help
The body shop wants more money than the car is worth. I decided to go for it myself. Removed the interior trim and pieces necessary to get the headliner out. Found that the vandal must have been standing on the roof because the roof struts were bent. So far I have straightened the struts and that got rid of 99% of the dents in the center. Now working on the bad one at the front edge. I may be able to get it to a not real pretty but acceptable result without resorting to replacing the panel.
