Headlight issue
Headlight issue
I recently have noticed a problem with my 94 CX. I'll be driving at night and have my headlights on, I'll switch to the high beams, and then when I try to switch back down to low beams, the switch makes it's clock noise and the lights go out... if I stop and monkey around with the switch and pull the fuses (which are all good) the low beams will come back on. Any ideas of where to look?
Re: Headlight issue
I kind of had a similar problem with my 85 Monte Carlo, my back lights were all screwy, for instance my left blinker wouldn't work, but if I used the hazard lights both blinkers would come on. Anyway, to fix I took out the bulbs and cleaned the contacts and the socket they went in to. There was some gooey build up on it, that didn't really look like the stuff they put in there to stop corrosion and what not.
Not saying it will work, but it might fix your problem, and it isn't really a hastle to do.

Re: Headlight issue
It might be that the contacts on the switch are all wore out an loose, and it doesn't make contact anymore when u switch baxk. Either that or some relay. Are your low and highs on the same bulb? If there are different bulbs for low and high beams, when you go to high, are the low beams supposed to go off or do they run together?
