I have this gas smell inside my car, is coming from between my back seat & trunk. Smells stronger when iopen up my trunk. Ichecked the tank under the backseat & everything seems to be in place & decent condition. Is strange but the smell isn't coming from there, is very strong between that location & trunk. Right above of where the spare tire is in the trunk. Also the gas meter acts up a little, not sure if it has to do with the smell but when is parked (example) car has half tank full, when I'm driving the meter would say I'm a little over a quater tank of gas. Helpppp

The filler neck might be rusting out or a leak somewhere. Where do you live at? I've heard that older cars seemed to have this issue(filler neck). The meter may change depending on ground level. If you go up a hill, it'll usually dip lower because the gas is all going to one side of the tank. It has to do with what monitors the gas level. Usually a float is what monitors it in out Civics. Some cars don't use that type of level sensor.
