Problem with car jerking when i hit 3500 rpm check engine light
i have a1990 honda civic lx automatic i will drive the car and it will not go over 3500rpm's it starts jerking or surging really bad and i loose power slow creeping and check engine light is on does anyone have any idea what it could be trying to sell it but feel bad about selling this problem to someone i could be in park and foot on gas and it will not go pass 3500rpm's i haven't a clue what it is thanks to anyone who can help me

Possible clogged fuel filter. When was the last engine tune up with new spark plugs and wires?
